The work

What the service includes

We handle roof repair and roof replacement. For a replacement, that means a tear-off and full re-roof, fastened to a coastal wind rating.

On the job

How a job runs

You get every step written out in plain language, in the order we'll do it, so you can see exactly what you're paying for. If something hidden turns up, you hear about it before anyone spends your money.

Roofs start at the drip edge. We fix the water path first, then the finish, so the repair actually lasts. A repair is diagnosed, fixed and made safe, and we explain the reason before we leave.

Before we pull off the street, the yard gets a magnet run. We've also cleaned up after another contractor rather than argue about it.

Drip edge, nailed off right, before a single shingle goes down

Most roof leaks on the Shore start at the edges, not the field. So we start there: clean tear-off, new drip edge nailed on a tight pattern, ice-and-water at the eaves, then shingles run straight up the roof.

  • Full tear-off & re-roof
  • Coastal wind-rated fastening
  • Yard swept with a magnet

Quotes & pricing

How pricing and quotes work

Cost depends on roof size, slope, seasonal demand and materials, as Fedale notes, which is why a measured quote for your own roof matters.

For a sense of range: This Old House puts a typical Maryland roof replacement at $6,501 to $20,359, with most homeowners paying around $8,251, and notes that Eastern Shore rates run more moderate than the D.C. area.

Repair cost depends on the type and extent of the damage. Fedale puts Maryland asphalt shingle repair at $7.75 to $11.33 per sq ft and storm repairs at anywhere from a few hundred dollars to over $10,000.

Flashing, underlayment and structural work cost more. Matching cedar, slate or tile, steep angles, skylights and hard-to-reach spots also raise the price.
