The work

You get every step written out in plain language, in the order we'll do it, so you can see what you're paying for. If something hidden turns up, you hear about it before any of your money is spent. We've also cleaned up after another contractor rather than argue about it.
On material: if your deck takes strong afternoon sun and people go barefoot on it, weigh that before choosing. And composite still needs washing now and then; left dirty, it can pick up mildew, stains and scratches.

Site work & hauling
A driveway and side lot that had gone to mud. We brought in the skid steer and a pair of trucks, stripped the old base out by the load, regraded for drainage away from the foundation, and packed new stone in lifts. The street was swept before the last truck pulled out — the neighbors never had a reason to call anybody.
